This is a cool promotional site on the spinky new Ferrari California. It includes some nifty pieces such as a movie on the car done by Micheal Mann and a "hear" section with 4 indivual settings including the roar of the beast. I like it. There's something about the contemporary design sportscars have always had, plus the fact that they are still so exclusive that running into 1 remains special. It's like christmas everytime I see a true bred sportscar like that.

"The adventures of Henry jones junior"... that doesn't quite have that ring to it like Indiana Jones does, smart move by Lucas/Spielberg. I am somewhat surprised to say that Indiana Jones 4 didn't suck half as bad as I had suspected it would. It doesn't rate up to the greats that are Last Crusade and Raiders of course, but it's watchable. And that's quite a feat in itself. I don't feel the return of Marion or the introduction of Henry junior... junior added anything I had been previously been missing in Indy movies, in fact I sort of hated the whole "omigosh we're a family now, lets roast marshmellows!" thang that was going on, but mindnumable crap it also wasn't. I was content seeing Ford jump, leap and drop over ancient weapons, traps and occult knows what at his age. I can't wait for the digital re-release by Lucas! I bet the humans will be turned into giant aliens and the giant aliens into... very bulbous versions of aliens.

I passed my drivers exam last week, something I didn't think possible as little as a month ago, but here I am, alive, and there all the pedestrians are, also very much alive. So something must have gone right, third try really is a charm then. I suppose I was a bit lucky this time with the route and time of day (9am) doing my exam, but can I not get lucky after failing my last 2 exams with all the chokeholds I had to take. Looking at my driving right now I don't fully believe myself to actually not be a hazard on the road just yet without the safety of an instructor and her brakepedal, but at least I can now build up some experience on easy quiet roads and turn into a completely normal roadrage danger on wheels that are already out there. I am still stoked about passing the test, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that possible. Maybe passing my college degree is also actually do'able.

As a gift to myself I am finally getting that Playstation3 I have been talking and thinking about so often. I just really want to be able to walk into a shop again and be able to buy a game I can actually play. Taking into account that they aren't going to make and sell SNES games anytime soon and current PC games make my computer smoke there isn't another option but to buy a "next gen" console. A PC upgrade at this point seems senseless and too expensive to me, seeing as it'll cost me quite a bit of money right now and there just isn't a whole lot left of that in the world. The Wii just doesn't have the gamecatalogue yet to make me go and get it, even though it has some current games and future projects deemed interesting. The battle between the Xbox360 and the Playstation3 is won by a little thing called emotion. For aeons I have supported Nintendo and loved everything they made (NES -> GameCube), and in a way still do, during that fanboy'ish love I got used to seeing project after project head towards the PS and later the PS2 instead of whatever Nintendo designed computer that I had. All that time I was quietly wondering and dreaming what it was like to own a console that seemingly had a new triple A game coming out for it with every tick and tock of the CPU. And now, or soon, I will.

The X360 never really crossed my mind as worthy of my money. It just doesn't evoke that "what a gorgeous machine, and look at those glorious games, me wantsss it!" feeling that Sony's spawn does, even if the X360 is getting a lot of love from developers right now. So the Playstation it is and my soul is as good as sold, but who cares when I will finally get that Metal Gear, Gran Turismo and very maybe Final Fantasy experience. Perhaps in hindsight I will be able to say "Nintendo: you really do r0x my b0x and Sony can just take a long walk of a short peer, oh and give me back my soul", but right now I wonder what it is like in non-Nintendo world where people are supposed to be tough, girls have huge breasts and tubes are not jumped down, but picked up and used to smash faces in. My, what a different world this is going to be for me. When the Little Big Planet pack rolls out later this month I will be breathing down the necks of spotty teenage boys while shuffing them out of my way and running towards the exit with my box of pretty.

How do you make some very very not suited for work viewable? Well like here's a start:

It's an ad for Diesel's upcoming anniversary and I luv it. Luv it long and bigtime. Luv it sooo hard and... well that'll do.

I've been trying wireless internet on my desktop PC for over 3 years now, but as much as I tried and tried it was never as fast and stable as the wireless connection on my laptop. Whatever the reason I just couldn't make it as snappy, I changed the wi-fi card, found and used the latest drivers for both the card and router, but no fucking do! It just didn't fly. Rock bottom in this slowfest was reached this week when a quick test over at speedtest showed a download speed of... 30KBps. On a friggin 8Mbit line! So I ordered a utp cable and got to business, an hour later I had the 20metre cable running through ceilings and walls, and here's the news: speedy. Just browsing the web has become the usual lovemaking that it once was and not to mention the good old downloading at 1MBps schmuckess.

Mucho love for the wireless with a laptop, it beats a million cables running through the place, but no way for my desktop quite yet. Apparently the integration of the wireless card into the entire system on a laptop makes all the difference. I'm so happy right now, so happy!

Well it appears the bail-out of all bail-outs has... bailed out, pardon my humor. I have no idea if the thing would have worked, or a similar bail-out will still work, but America, and most of the world in its wake, seems to be sledding down a very slippery slope without an actual sled. And the pit is marked with spikes.

This might be a good time to go shopping!

I'm currently listening to Portisheads' Third and boy what a music rollercoaster this is. So far I've heard weird and not-sure-I-am-into-that songs like Nylon Smile and Plastic to the enjoyable Silence and, absolutly, superb track, The Rip. Not sure what to make of all this so far, but I'm willing to give the rest a try. And The Rip alone makes this album worthwhile knowing and having listened to at least once. I must admit though it was quite a shock when hearing all this when I was expecting a sort of pop-rock like Notwist. But that's ok. That's a-ok.

Meanwhile the world moves in its mysterious, dodgy and shady way we seemingly have come to terms with. While other people are not so shy about making a good honest living doing what they do best, which just happens to be thievery.

What a week it was last week. First I turned 26 last monday, thank you thank you. Than on thursday I botch my second attempt at attaining a drivers license and to top it off all sportsevents I followed this weekend were close to being washed away. Formula1 found itself on a wet Monza track for the first time in over thirty years, and while wet tracks make for fun races, Ferrari really doesn't seem to do well under those splashy conditions. In retrospect I should be content that Massa actually gained a point on Hamilton rather than lose several. Also the MotoGP race seemed to suffer harsh conditions. It suffered from mighty hurrican Ike even. Good to see Rossi have a mess of a start though, this way he had to make up for all those places and fight his way back, that was the only reason the race turned out groovy. Wet MotoGP races in general are boring. Those guys are made for sun and heat, so is the entire concept of racing on two wheels actually.

Anyway, this new spinky week should be the start for my final college project, once I get this show on the road I should be able to cruise to my diploma and tell teachers around the world to "ave it!", "take it!" and, a favourite, "eat it!" because I will be done with school. No more assignments, silly grades, discussions, or daylong shitty classes for me! But before I get to that point I will have to show some spirit and actually do the damn thing. I'll be so happy once I get settled in that zombie-like life with nothing but work and small bouts of PES to keep me occupied till I die. No, in all fairness, working should grant me with enough money to finally visit America and Japan, and live the good life with Daan. Looking forward to that. The zombie life... not so much.
