03 July 2009 Wimbled0wn
Exciting game being played right now between Roddick and Murray. And just to spite all the english supporting Murray I really hope Roddick takes the win! Only to lose the final to Federer of course. He's still the hero obviously.
02 July 2009 trouble lurks in every corner
And I continue the tubefest with... ROBOGEISHA!
30 June 2009 bye bye mr.pop
I forgot to mention it, but the day I scored my degree was also the day that Michael Jackson died. A freakish coincedence or some dark scheme designed by the devil himself? Yup, just a coincedence. His demise doesn't fill me with tears, but it really is something I never did expect and the stuff you never expect makes the most impression. But when I hear his music again and watching some of his videos and see his moves and his way I suppose there is some sadness about his death. Not because he died last week, but because he had this stunning effect on the entire world one time and many generations, including me, ever since that it is so sad that he will never be able to be that sparkle of inspiration in the flesh anymore.
So there is some sadness. Not because the man Michael Jackson died, but because the artist Michael Jackson did.
27 June 2009 sweet lord I've done it!
Yes I have. For the past 3/4 weeks I've been oozing sweat and dreaming the scary dream, but yesterday I was told by the powers that I am smart enough for a bachelor degree. Yes, this means I'm finally done with school! For a long long time it didn't look like it would ever come this far, but I've done the extra work to get it all done and it paid off.
A couple of weeks of joy and quiet for me and then I'm off looking for a job. Not sure where how or what, but it'll come to me. There should be plenty of stuff for me to do, even in these perilous times.
Anyway, some more updates from me the coming week on me and what I likes. Probably some small ramblings on Metal Gear Solid 4 as I've always told myself I was gonna finish it after getting my degree.
Until then, enjoy this wave:
07 April 2009 it's an animal world
I love these little stories/poems about animals, and their view/relationship with man;:
One day when little water was to be found, Man spend a while in thought and realized that he might one day die, never to rise again. Man send Dog to God to ask that he might come back to life again, like the flowering plant, after death.
Dog went off and followed his nose toward God. He was soon distracted by the smell of soup, and followed his hunger toward the source. Leaning close to watch it boil, Dog was content and forgot his mission.
Seeing that Dog was lost, Frog took it upon himself to go to God and tell him that Man did not want to life again. If Man were to reborn, thought Frog, he would soon muddy the rivers and destroy the birthplaces of frogs.
Dog finally arrived to tell God Man's message. Leaning low, he crooned Man's need for rebirth in the song of his howl. God was touched by the devotion of Dog for Man.
But God granted the frog's wish, because he got there first.

Also Super Mario could very well be the real Peter Parker!
Speaking of bloated superheroes; I finally got to see Watchmen, and I liked it! There are still some things and issues I have to get used to (like a "man" who in general is more powerful than Superman, Batman and Spiderman all put together), but I think that has more to do with the original comic/story rather than the comic-to-movie conversion. Which was a very decent conversion in itself anyway. There even were some moments where I thought the movie director had changed bits and bobs, but I was corrected by my cousin and, upon coming home, found that he was indeed right, so I stand corrected. Shows what I know. Not sure what I think about seeing a big pulsating blue penis on a giant screen, but I felt there were few scenes left out or altered too much from the still excellent original story, and the big in-your-face violence did me some good. All in all a very good showing, I wonder which comic they will pick next.
27 March 2009 you want your kid playing this game?
And on with the youtube clips. This one clearly shows that professional sports are not done by professionals alone. Or perhaps I am clueless in the field of what it is to be a pro.
Douchebag defender.
27 March 2009 MXC
This is the American dubbed version of a Japanse show called MXC (in English territory that is), which seems like a sort of knock-out race for regular Joe and Jane, but to tell the truth it's not about the race, it's all about the knock-outs, and the commentary. Mostly about the commentary actually.
5'12 takes the cake. The freakin cake.
19 March 2009 A classic gone classic!
Get it?
18 March 2009 Crapcom?
For a while I was really anticipating the release of Resident Evil 5, because after having played and loved every minute (well perhaps not every scary minute) of RE4 I, somewhat mistakenly, figured I was finally old and bold enough to venture into this "horror adventure" side of gaming. Alas, games like FEAR, Siren and Silent Hill are still not my cuppa and never will be, but being able to play a game which at least focuses on scaring the player in some way is still a triumph I cherish. Perhaps it's because unlike the previous RE games, part 4 was more of a shooter than an horror-adventure, meaning a bit less thinking and a bit more shooting. And shooting scary things always comes easier to me then thinking what those scary things might possibly do to me.
Unfortunately RE5 doesn't seem to live up to the hype. But honestly, how could it. The "meh" reviews are slowly coming in and it's becoming apparent that puzzels have been toned down a bit more, there are more on-rail shooting elements and with a game-span of a little over 10 hours it's not the lengthiest of affairs. Now RE4 already was a watering down of the earlier RE games, but that was exactly why I loved it. Gone with much of the hard (?) puzzling and awaiting some zombie or zombiedog to thrash through the window (that was aces to watch, but not play) and in with, like I said, just some simple run away and shoot gameplay. But hearing that the new RE is another step into getting away from it's old/basic gameplay is a bit of a shame, I would have loved to crack my skull on some puzzles and finding it hard to get through the game. Making a game too easy is just that; too easy. Take in the second surprise: a CPU sidekick through the entire single-player game and it has left me with a bit of a bad taste. Even though I probably wouldn't have bought it right away (other games are higher up the list) I would have loved to shoot me some darkies (ooooeeeeeerrrrrrr) and the offline co-op mode is brilliant as well, but reading about the game being "not as good as 4" has, for now, made me wait for the game to fall into the bargain range.
